After a 30 year career lecturing mathematics and statistics - most recently as Head of Learning Development at a university in the east of England - I set up as an independent freelance consultant in 2014.
When working full-time in higher education, my main focus was supporting staff and students across the university with statistical methods for their research projects, in a range of subject areas that included Radiography, Nursing, Health Studies, Bioscience, Psychology, Sociology and Business. This breadth of experience has given me insight into the needs and interests of a range of clients today. I think I can speak your language!
I am a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. For eight years I was elected Chair of the UK
sigma Network for Excellence in cross-university Mathematics and Statistics Support. I hold an honorary senior lectureship at the University of Essex, and am Visiting Fellow in Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Suffolk.
